Pedicab Driver and Passengers Hospitalized after Hit-and-Run Crash near Sansome Street
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (June 27, 2018) – Five people, including two children, were hospitalized Wednesday afternoon following a hit-and-run collision on The Embarcadero.
A T-Mobile bike taxi carrying a family of four visiting from Vancouver, British Colombia, was struck by a hit-and-run vehicle. The collision occurred near Sansome Street at around 4:15 PM. Events leading up to the collision were not immediately available to the public.
The pedicab operator sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to the San Francisco General Hospital. Recent updates stated that the driver is still in a coma after suffering a fractured skull. The family, which included two children ages 5 and 8, was also hospitalized with non-life-threatening-injuries. There is no update on their current medical condition.
Police are asking for the public’s help to locate the hit-and-run driver. The vehicle involved is described to be a light-colored sedan,and was last seen heading toward the Bay Bridge.
