1 Person Dead in San Francisco Auto Accident on Highway 101 near Paul Avenue

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (April 21, 2025) – Sunday morning, a fiery vehicle crash on Highway 101 near Paul Avenue killed one person.

The incident happened at around 3:05 a.m. on Highway 101, north of the Paul Avenue off-ramp.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a BMW crashed for still unknown reasons. Then, a Honda sedan struck the BMW while authorities were en route to the scene.

Authorities said that the BMW erupted into flames before the second crash.

Firefighters rushed to the scene and extricated the driver of the BMW. Then, paramedics transported the driver of the BMW to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the Honda remained at the scene to cooperate with the authorities.

Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.

Due to the limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
