PPD Investigates Possible DUI Accident on 3rd Street

Puyallup, WA (March 20, 2023) On Saturday morning, a fiery fatal crash on 19th Avenue SE claimed the life of 3 people in their 20s.

According to the Puyallup Police Department (PPD), the suspected DUI accident happened at around 5 a.m. at the intersection of 19th Avenue SE and 3rd Street SE.

Officials found a car flipped on its side and was on fire. Authorities say that the fiery car had 3 people trapped inside.

Despite the rescuer’s attempt to put out the flames, the fire continued until firefighters arrived to extinguish the fiery wreck. Firefighters were able to extricate the victims, however, all were pronounced dead at the scene.

PPD confirmed that a 24-year-old woman, a 24-year-old man and a 27-year-old man, were the the victims in the fiery fatal crash.

Police investigators say that the vehicle was travelling at high-speed when it collided with several trees and was catapulted onto a residential yard. Meanwhile, police also believed that alcohol and drugs may have played a factor in the crash.
