Woman Injured in Oakland Train Accident

 
OAKLAND, CA (July 24, 2019) – Wednesday evening, a female pedestrian was injured in a train accident on Lake Merritt BART Station.
 
Officials stated the incident occurred just before 6:00 PM. Authorities reported that a woman was hit by a train. However, the events leading up are currently unclear. Witnesses also said that rescue personnel attempted to communicate with the victim while she was underneath the train.
 
Medics arrived shortly after and transported the woman to a nearby hospital for further medical evaluation. However, there has been no update on his current medical condition.
 
In addition, the train station was closed for a period of time. There was major delays as a result of the accident.
 
There has been no further information released at this time as investigations continue.
