Female Driver Injured in Pursuit Crash on Wilton Place [Los Angeles, CA]

Los Angeles, CA (August 3, 2024) – A female driver was injured following a pursuit crash on Wilton Place Thursday.

The authorities from the Marina del Rey Sheriff’s Station initiated a chase of a dark-colored sedan but later terminated the pursuit which was taken over by the LAPD officers.

It was unknown if the LAPD was actively chasing the vehicle when the collision happened.

Investigators said the suspect vehicle was traveling at speeds more than 80 mph along Fifth Street when the vehicle crashed into the side of a white vehicle on Wilton Place. 

The impact of the collision sent the white vehicle into a violent spin onto a sidewalk and into the corner of a building. The woman driving that vehicle was transported to a hospital in unknown condition.

Afterward, the suspects’ vehicle swerved out of control and also rested on the sidewalk against a parked car.

A passenger in the suspect’s vehicle got out and fled on foot, but was arrested a short time later. 

Meanwhile, the authorities had to pull the suspect driver from the vehicle and was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries.

Furthermore, the accident report noted that a total of three suspects were arrested and a weapon was also recovered from the suspect’s vehicle. 

There is no information if the suspects’ vehicle was stolen while some reports state the suspects were wanted on suspicion of robbery.
