Officers Arrest Suspect Driver in Pierce County Fatal Collision
Pierce County, WA (September 18, 2022) – On Sunday, a female driver lost her life in a hit-and-run crash on Pacific Avenue.
The fatal traffic collision happened at about 3:10 p.m. on State Route at 143rd Street South.
Officers say the female driver of a sedan was turning left southbound on Pacific Avenue from 143rd Street. Suddenly, a northbound sedan driven by a 25-year-old Puyallup man collided with the woman’s car.
Right away, the paramedics took the woman to a hospital where she died.
On the other hand, the male driver fled on foot and was later located by the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department.
The authorities booked him into jail on suspicion of vehicular homicide, felony hit-and-run, and eluding. Officers say the driver had warrants for his arrest and his license had been suspended.
Officers say both vehicles do not have other occupants during the crash.
In the meantime, the authorities are investigating if speeding or impairment were factors in the Pierce County fatal collision.
