Female Driver Dies in Fiery Crash on Interstate 5 [Redding, CA]

Redding, CA (January 15, 2022) – On Friday, a Lexus female driver died in a fiery crash on Interstate 5.

The emergency responders arrived at the scene at around 1:07 a.m. north of South Bonnyview Road.

When the authorities arrived they located the Lexus engulfed in fire as well as a semi-truck near it.

Officers said that the Lexus driver entered the freeway’s southbound lanes from South Bonnyview Road in the wrong direction.

As a result, it collided head-on with a southbound Volvo big rig.

Due to the impact of the crash, both vehicles caught fire and rested on the center divide of the freeway.

Unfortunately, the woman driving the Lexus died at the scene, while the two people inside the big rig sustained minor injuries and were able to escape safely.
