Jesse Vasquez Hospitalized after Three-Vehicle Crash on Loop 338 in Odessa

Odessa, TX (February 8, 2023) – Wednesday night, Felipe F Oviedo-Castillo died in a three-vehicle crash on Loop 338.

Moreover, the fatal three-vehicle crash in Odessa happened on February 8.

Reportedly, on Loop 338 in the south, Joseph Richard Autry, 37, of Odessa, was operating a Kenworth truck. He had come to a stop at the 8th Street/red light intersection.

Oviedo-Castillo, a passenger, and Jesse Vasquez, 39, of Odessa, were traveling in a Dodge Ram southbound on Loop 338. At the junction, the Kenworth truck was rear-ended by the Ram.

Then, the Ram crossed the crossing and into the northbound lanes, where it collided with the trailer of a Freightliner being driven by 42-year-old Samuel Rona of Laredo.

Oviedo-Castillo was thrown from the Ram and collided with Rocky Enriquez Gonzales’s Ford Escape.

The Ector County Medical Examiner pronounced Oviedo-Castillo dead at the scene. 

Vasquez was transported in stable condition to Medical Center Hospital. Gonzales, Rona, and Autry were unharmed.
