Fatal Accident in Dixon Crash on Highway 113

 
DIXON, CA (May 31, 2019) – At least one person died Thursday following a head-on crash on Highway 113 near Casey Road.
 
The crash was reported shortly after 6:00 p.m.. Preliminary reports from the scene indicate no one was moving inside either vehicle involved in the crash.
 
The crash prompted a severe traffic alert about 20 minutes later. As a result, the lanes in both directions were blocked due to the crash and subsequent investigation. Authorities were asked to shut down the highway at Hawkins Road about the time a CHP medivac helicopter was called to the scene.
 
The CHP reports one crash victim was flown to Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center and was in critical condition.
 
Authorities reopened the highway shortly before 8:25 p.m.
 
Crews from the Vacaville and Dixon fire departments responded to the scene along with Solano CHP officers.
 
Preliminary reports indicated a third vehicle was also involved.
