PETALUMA, CA (August 28, 2019) — At least one person died after a head-on accident on Stony Point Road on Tuesday, August 22.
 
The crash happened at around 4:10 p.m. at Stony Point Road and West Railroad Avenue. One of the vehicles involved was a black Chevrolet SUV, CHP reports stated.
 
CHP issued a Sig-alert shortly after 5 p.m., with Stony Point Road, shut down in both directions. The Sig-alert was still in effect as of 6:40 p.m. Tuesday.
 
CHP officials informed drivers to avoid using Stony Point Road from Cotati to Petaluma.
