Deadly Union City Auto Accident on 880 Freeway and Alvarado-Niles Road

 
UNION CITY, CA (March 25, 2022) – Sunday morning, a crash on 880 Freeway and Alvarado-Niles Road led to a fatality.
 
The incident happened at around 4:44 a.m. which closed several lanes of the northbound 880 Freeway. Moreover, it happened just south of Alvarado-Niles Road.
 
According to reports, a vehicle overturned and blocked the far left lane. By 5:05 a.m., officers shut down all northbound lanes of the highway and diverted traffic off the highway at the Alvarado-Niles Road off-ramp.
 
Meanwhile, the CHP reopened the far right lane at 5:24 a.m. By 6:45 a.m., all lanes have reopened.
 
Due to the limited information available, the crash remains under active investigation.
