Fatal Vehicle Crash on Highway 1 Claim Lives [San Mateo County, CA]

San Mateo County, CA (July 27, 2024) On Friday morning, 2 people were killed in a horrific vehicle crash on Highway 1.

According to the CHP, the tragic crash happened in the area of Devil’s Slide between Pacifica and Montara, around 11:40 a.m.

Reports say that a vehicle went off a cliff on the southbound lanes of Highway 1 south of the Tom Lantos Tunnel.

Officials say that a gray 2-door sedan, fell off approximately 300 to 400 feet down over the embankment.

Authorities pronounced 2 people dead at the scene.

CHP is conducting an investigation and have not provided further information at this time.
