According to the El Cajon Police Department (ECPD), the fatal accident happened at around 5:17 p.m. at 800 South Magnolia Avenue.

Reports say that the 66-year-old man succumbed to his injuries after being struck by a mid-size vehicle.

Authorities say that the driver of a 2018 black Ford Fusion hit the pedestrian.

The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated fully with police. Authorities stated that neither alcohol nor drugs appeared to be factors in the crash.
