One Dead in San Diego Pedestrian Accident on 15 Freeway

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (July 15, 2019) – A person died in a fatal pedestrian accident on 15 Freeway on July 12.
 
Authorities received reports of the collision about 4:00 a.m. on northbound 15 Freeway south of West Bernardo Drive, CHP Officer Jim Bettencourt said.
 
When CHP arrived, they determined that passing motorists struck the unidentified pedestrian several times. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
 
Meanwhile, CHP issued a SigAlert about 4:35 a.m. and closed all northbound lanes south of West Bernardo Drive. Moreover, they opened HOV lanes for all northbound traffic.
 
Police did not release any additional information regarding the accident at this time. However, police are investigating. In addition, the authorties are encouraging any witness or person involved to come forward with any helpful information. The San Diego CHP is urging any motorists who witnessed the crash to call investigators at (619) 220-5492.
