OILDALE, CA (June 26, 2024) – Tuesday morning, a fatal hit-and-run crash on Airport Drive near Washington Avenue killed one person.

The incident happened at around 2:46 a.m. on southbound Airport Drive, south of Washington Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a southbound vehicle struck a male pedestrian who was lying in the slow lane outside a marked crosswalk. Then, the vehicle fled the scene without stopping to provide aid.

Moreover, responders pronounced the pedestrian, dead at the scene.
