Fatal DUI Car Accident on Cecil Avenue and Reed Road [Delano, CA]

1 Dead and 1 Hospitalized after Delano Car Accident on Cecil Avenue

 
DELANO, CA (September 2, 2019) – A person died and another sustained injuries in a DUI car accident on Cecil Avenue on August 29.
 
Alcohol and inattention are considered factors in the accident.
 
According to the CHP, the car driver was allegedly drinking and on Snapchat when his car steered into the truck’s path on Cecil Avenue, east of Reed Road. Authorities received reports of the crash at around 2:15 p.m.
 
As a result, the 18-year-old driver succumbed to death while his 18-year-old front passenger flew to Kern Medical. Authorities found the driver’s cellphone on his lap.
 
Meanwhile, the pickup driver didn’t suffer any injury.
 
Authorities also spotted scattered beer cans around the area.
