Fatal Sunrise Manor Car Accident on Carey Avenue
SUNRISE MANOR, NV (July 19, 2019) – Friday afternoon, police reported a fatal car accident on Carey Avenue.
Officials reported the accident occurred around 1:35 PM in the intersection of Nellis Boulevard and Carey Avenue.
According to police, a 31-year-old man driving a 2016 Hyundai Elantra south on Nellis ran the red light. As a result, he hit a 2003 GMC Envoy and a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder. Officers stated that the man drove at a high speed rate when he collided with the Pathfinder turning left on Nellis and the Envoy driving west on Carey.
Medics arrived immediately after. The passenger in the Envoy sustained critical injuries while the driver sustained minor injuries. A 30 year-old man driving the Pathfinder also sustained injuries. Paramedics transported all three victims to a nearby hospital for further medical evaluation. However, there has been no update on their medical status.
Also, the Hyundai driver was taken to University Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries and died.
Due to the impact, debris of the collision struck a school bus. Cleaning crews also dispatched to the scene.
