Family Trapped in Car on 805 Freeway Ramp [National City, CA]

Injuries Sustained in Overturned Car Accident in National City

NATIONAL CITY, CA (December 24, 2018) – Monday morning, there was a family trapped inside their overturned van on the 805 Freeway near westbound Highway 54.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred just before 9:00 AM on a transition ramp near southbound 805 Freeway.

Officials reported that the driver of the van over corrected, lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll and land on its side. A woman and her daughter were trapped inside, but several cars pulled over to help. The National Fire Officials said the family suffered minor injuries and no one had to be transported.

Due to the impact of the collision, lanes were temporarily closed. There were no other vehicles were involved, but the van was towed away due to the damages.
