1 Person Hurt in Fresno Pedestrian Accident on Highway 99 near Keyes Road
FRESNO, CA (May 7, 2024) – On Monday, Ezequiel Gonzalez Mejia sustained injuries in a startling pedestrian crash on Highway 99.
The incident happened on southbound Highway 99, north of Keyes Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a commercial box truck struck a male pedestrian who was standing next to his Kia sedan on the west side of southbound 99.
Moreover, responders transported the victim, identified as 41-year-old Mejia, to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto with major injuries.
Furthermore, officers confirmed that the driver of the Freightliner box truck, identified as 33-year-old Raul Urbano, sustained no injuries in the crash and remained at the scene to cooperate with the authorities.
At this time, the events leading to the crash remained unclear. When additional information becomes available, the public will be notified.
Due to limited information, the CHP continued to investigate the crash.
