25-Year-Old Man Dies after Car Crashes into Walnut Tree near Farmersville Boulevard

TULARE COUNTY, CA (December 16, 2018) – An Exeter man was killed Sunday morning following a solo-vehicle crash on Highway 198. The identity of the 25-year-old victim is being withheld, pending notification of next of kin.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened near Farmersville Boulevard, at about 8:00 AM. A 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche was traveling eastbound when it drifted to the right side of the roadway. The driver overcorrected, causing the pickup to spin and to slam into a walnut tree.

Emergency responders arrived and attempted to resuscitate the seriously injured driver. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported by the authorities.

Investigators confirmed that the victim was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash. Neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected to have been a factor in the fatal accident. Additional information will be released following the conclusion of the investigation.
