1 Dead and 2 Injured in Lompoc Rollover Accident on Highway 1 and Santa Lucia Canyon Road
LOMPOC, CA (September 29, 2022) – Wednesday morning, Eunice Perez De La Cruz suffered injuries in a deadly crash on Highway 1 and Santa Lucia Canyon Road.
The incident occurred at about 7:55 a.m. on Highway 1 just north of Santa Lucia Canyon Road near Lompoc.
According to reports, 18-year-old Eunice Perez De La Cruz of Lompoc drove a 2002 GMC Envoy southbound on Highway 1. Then, she made an unsafe turn which sent the SUV onto the right shoulder of the road
Then, it overturned down the hillside several times into heavy brush, ejecting two passengers, ages 10 and 8.
As a result, the 10-year-old girl died. Meanwhile, the 8-year-old girl and De La Cruz sustained major injuries.
Officers noted that none of the three wore safety belts.
Furthermore, the authorities do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
