ESCALON, CA – One Killed in Rollover Collision on Mariposa Road

Speeding SUV Overturns Leaving One Dead near Dodds Road

 
ESCALON, CA (March 18, 2019) – One unidentified victim was killed Monday afternoon, in a rollover collision on Mariposa Road in Escalon.
 
The fatal accident happened around 2:47 p.m., near Dodds Road. Dispatchers arrived shortly after receiving multiple calls about a sport-utility vehicle rolling over in the area.
 
According to reports, the car was recklessly speeding, traveling at more than 100 miles per hour on the roadway. This consequently caused the vehicle to flip over and land on the driver’s side.
 
Reports indicate that the driver was found pinned inside the overturned vehicle upon medics arrival. The victim was suffering from major injuries once they were extricated.
 
Paramedics eventually transported the driver to a nearby hospital. There, the injured victim succumbed to their injuries, and was later pronounced dead.
 
The victim’s identity has not yet been released, pending next of kin notification. The surrounding area was closed off as crews worked to cleanup and finalize preliminary duties. No additional information has been provided.
