Bicyclist Ernesto Ramirez-Hernandez Dead Following Lamont Crash

 
LAMONT, CA (December 15, 2020) – On Sunday morning, 43-year-old Ernesto Ramirez-Hernandez died in a bicycle accident on Di Giorgio Road and Myrtle Avenue.

The crash between a vehicle and a bicycle happened at about 12:40 a.m. The incident took place on Di Giorgio Road, east of Myrtle Avenue.

Upon the officers’ arrival, they found out that the Lamont resident rode a white Huffy bicycle westbound on Di Giorgio Road. However, for unknown reasons, a westbound Volkswagen Passat hit the rear of the bicycle.

The impact ejected the 43-year-old male bicyclist, and left him with fatal injuries. As a result, the authorities declared Mr. Ramirez-Hernandez dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, the 19-year-old Passat driver remained uninjured.
