Ernestina Rivas Killed in Multi-Vehicle Accident on Waterman Avenue

 
San Bernardino, CA (December 21, 2020) – On Wednesday, 48-year-old Ernestina Rivas died in a multi-vehicle crash on Waterman Avenue.
 
Moreover, the fatal crash happened at about 8:19 p.m. at the intersection of Third Street.
 
Rivas was waiting at a red light in a Toyota Camry, and behind her car another Camry who was also waiting at the light.
 
Suddenly, a Chevrolet Tahoe barreling south on Waterman Avenue slammed into the car behind Rivas.
 
In a chain reaction, Rivas’ vehicle was pushed into the intersection toward the path of a semi-truck, as it turned left.
 
As a result, Ms. Rivas, of San Bernardino, sustained severe injuries, and later died at a local hospital.
 
Meanwhile, the rescuers treated the SUV driver for minor injuries.
 
Furthermore, witnesses told officers they saw the SUV driver before the crash running through several red lights at a high speed.
 
Consequently, officers arrested the 27-year-old SUV driver of San Bernardino for driving under the influence of “an inhalant” and causing injury.
