Erik Shaw Dies in Head-on Crash on Foothill Road [Saticoy, CA]

Santa Paula Man Killed in Ventura County Head-on Collision

Saticoy, CA (February 06, 2021) On Friday, 62-year-old Erik Shaw of Santa Paula died in a head-on crash on Foothill Road, east of N. Saticoy Avenue.

Moreover, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and Ventura County Fire Department (VCFD) responded to the crash at around 1:37 pm.

According to the CHP, the Santa Paula man was driving east on Foothill Road in a 1992 Chevrolet Silverado.

Meanwhile, a 29-year-old man from Wilmington drove a 2008 Toyota Highlander going west.

Apparently, the Toyota veered to the eastbound traffic and collided head-on with the Chevrolet.

Authorities say that the Chevy driver died on the spot, while Toyota driver was seriously injured and was taken to the Ventura County Medical Center.

Currently, the Toyota motorist’s condition is unclear.

CHP is still conducting an investigation to determine the probable cause of the Ventura County crash.

Meanwhile, CHP shut down Foothill Road between Saticoy Avenue and Wells Road for 5 hours for the investigation.
