Pickup Driver At Large in Trinity County Hit and Run Accident That Left Eric Croft Hospitalized

TRINITY COUNTY, CA (December 15, 2021) – Sunday night, 54-year-old Eric Croft suffered injuries in a hit-and-run crash on Washington Street and Highway 299.

The incident occurred at around 6:24 p.m. when a vehicle struck a person. Moreover, it happened on Washington Street, north of Highway 299.

Upon the officers’ arrival, they found the 54-year-old man down on the ground.

Then, the initial investigation revealed that a hit-and-run vehicle hit him.

According to reports, as the man walked east across Washington Street, a northbound dark gray pickup truck struck the pedestrian.

The authorities said that the vehicle was possibly a Toyota, and it drove off north on Washington Street.

Meanwhile, the CHP suspects that the man suffered major injuries to the head and legs. Thus, they transported him to the Trinity General Hospital.

Due to the limited information available, the authorities continue to investigate the crash. Also, they urged anyone with information about the incident to contact the CHP Trinity River Area office.
