Eriberto Avila Arrested in DUI Crash on Avenue 208 [Tulare County, CA]

Tulare County, CA (June 7, 2024) – Eriberto Avila, 33, of Woodville, was arrested following a DUI Crash on Avenue 208 Thursday afternoon.

The traffic accident happened around 5:30 p.m. at Road 168.

Troopers said a 1991 Honda Accord driven by Avila had run the stop sign at the intersection. As a result, the Honda was struck by the oncoming Dodge Charger police car.

Avila took off on foot right after the crash but the authorities located him a bit later.

Officers said both Avila and the officer riding the patrol car were treated for minor injuries at Sierra View District Hospital.

Later on, officers determined Avila was under the influence of alcohol and arrested him for DUI.
