72-Year-Old Man Struck by Big Rig Died at La Media Road and Highway 905
SAN DIEGO, CA (February 23, 2018) – A 72-year-old man was killed by a big rig on La Media Road while he was working on his broken down motorcycle on the side of the road in Otay Mesa on Friday evening.
Enrique Ramirez Ramos was working on the spark plugs of his 1980 black Honda motorcycle at around 5:30 PM when he was struck by a large gray truck with a 50-foot trailer attached. The vehicle had just taken the southbound exit onto La Media Road from eastbound state Route 905.
San Diego police stated that the truck made an unsafe move to the right and hit the pedestrian, running him over and killing him. Police determined that drugs and alcohol were contributing factors in the fatal accident.
