33-Year-Old Elmira Resident Dies in Bicycle Crash near Leisure Town Road
Vacaville, CA (August 12, 2022) On Thursday morning, a read-end crash on Elmira Road claimed the life of a 33-year-old bicyclist from Elmira.
According to Vacaville police, a vehicle struck the back of the westbound bicyclist at around 8:30 a.m. east of Leisure Town Road.
Reports say that rescuers found the victim on the shoulder near the entrance to Play 4 All Park.
First responders performed lifesaving methods on the victim. Unfortunately, the cyclist succumbed to his injuries and authorities pronounced him dead at the scene.
The collision closed Elmira Road between Leisure Town Road and Carroll Way.
Authorities are investigating the incident and have ruled out impairment as a factor in the crash.
