Ellen Turnbo Struck and Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Wells Avenue and Vassar Street
Reno, NV (UPDATE) – On August 16, Ellen Turnbo, 72, died in a pedestrian accident on Wells Avenue and Vassar Street.
The fatal accident happened at about 2 p.m. on a Sunday.
The Reno Police Department (RPD) responded to reports of a pedestrian accident in which the victim was trapped under the vehicle.
Immediately, the rescuers provided life-saving measures, however, the victim, Ms. Turnbo, of Reno, died at the scene.
Reno Police said two vehicles had a misunderstanding in negotiating a turn at Wells Avenue and Vassar Street. As a result, one vehicle swerved causing the crash.
Furthermore, both drivers remained on the scene and cooperated with the authorities. Though, it is unidentified whether impairment was a factor in the crash.
The Reno Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is currently investigating the incident.
