Elizabeth Chick Killed After Bales of Hay Hit Her Vehicle in Shasta County

 
Shasta County, CA (November 12, 2020) – On Tuesday, 52-year-old Elizabeth Chick of Ione died in a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 299.
 
The fatal crash opened at around 10 a.m. when a semi-truck carrying 1,200-pound hay bales was traveling around a curve. Then suddenly, six bales shifted and fell off the truck.
 
The hay crushed the Honda Civic Ms. Chick was driving. As a result, her car swerved into oncoming traffic and into another vehicle.
 
The authorities pronounced her dead at the Shasta County crash scene.
 
Furthermore, two other cars also collided with the hay bales.
 
An autopsy is currently scheduled, and her next of kin was notified.
