Fatal Crash at Alta and South Avenues
REEDLEY, CA (October 4, 2019) – A child died in a two-vehicle crash late Friday afternoon in Reedley, authorities said.
The crash happened around 5:20 p.m. on Alta Avenue at South Avenue.
According to the CHP, a 21-year-old Daniel Lemus was driving without a valid license and failed to stop at the intersection. He then collided with a sedan carrying two adults and an 8-year-old boy.
As a result, the child died upon impact. The Fresno County sheriff’s officials identified the boy as Eliseo Saldana.
Paramedics transported the two adults in the sedan to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Police arrested Lemus for vehicular manslaughter and driving without a license.
The crash is still under investigation.
