Semi Truck and SUV Involved in Early Fatal Collision on 80 Freeway in El Cerrito

 
EL CERRITO, CA (December 15, 2018) – At least one person was killed following a traffic collision early Saturday morning in El Cerrito, CHP officials said.
 
The fatal collision happened around 2:16 a.m. on eastbound 80 Freeway at Potrero Avenue off-ramp.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a semi truck and a black SUV collided, blocking the slow lane. While the cause of the crash has not yet been determined, an ambulance unit was dispatched to the scene to provide life-saving aid.
 
Sadly, at least one fatality was found as a result of the accident. The identity of the victim was not immediately available pending next of kin notification.
 
A SigAlert was issued, blocking several eastbound lanes of 80 Freeway for unknown duration while evidence from the scene was collected and photographed.
