Edward Minot Jr Arrested in Brutal DUI Crash near Mission Avenue [Oceanside, CA]

1 Dead in Oceanside Auto Accident near Mission Avenue and Myers Street

OCEANSIDE, CA (July 6, 2023) – Tuesday night, authorities arrested Edward Minot Jr in a brutal DUI crash near Mission Avenue.

The crash happened at about 11:00 p.m. near Mission Avenue and Myers Street. According to reports, a White Volkswagen GTI near Mission Avenue and Myers Street drove with no lights on.

Thus, an Oceanside officer tried to pull over the driver, but it ended in a high-speed pursuit north on Myers Street. Eventually, the suspect’s vehicle struck a Blue Nissan Altima driving east on Surfrider Way.

Meanwhile, police revealed that a 12-year-old male passenger of the Altima succumbed to injuries at the scene.

Meanwhile, other passengers in the vehicle, a 27-year-old and a 6-year-old, sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Also, two occupants of the Volkswagen suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Then, responders took four people to trauma centers.

Furthermore, authorities arrested 20-year-old Minot Jr. of Mill Spring, North Carolina, on suspicion of driving under the influence and gross vehicular manslaughter.
