Eduardo Gutierrez Dies in Jurupa Valley Motorcycle Collision

Jurupa Valley, CA (August 25, 2020) – On Sunday, 53-year-old Eduardo Gutierrez died in a traffic collision on the Pomona (60) Freeway in Jurupa Valley.

The Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s Bureau identified Gutierrez from Moreno Valley.

CHP said the crash happened at about 3:42 a.m in the westbound lanes of the freeway west of the Country Village Road.

Additionally, CHP said Gutierrez was on his Suzuki GSXR motorcycle in the westbound lane of Pomona Freeway. Then, he was struck from behind by a speeding Nissan Sentra, driven by a 31-year-old Riverside woman.

Consequently, the Nissan hit the rear of the Suzuki, flinging the rider onto the pavement.

Moreover, Gutierrez was gravely injured due to the massive blunt force, and he was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Indeed, the female motorist did not flee, but remained at the scene, and called 911.

Authorities have not filed charges as of Monday afternoon. Officials say “Alcohol is a factor in this collision.”

Lastly, CHP is still investigating the crash and have not released additional details.
