Suspected DUI Crash on Ebers Street Injures Teenage Bicyclist [San Diego, CA]

San Diego, CA (December 14, 2023) On Wednesday evening, a 14-year-old boy on a Talaria electric off-road dirt bike northbound was hurt in a suspected DUI crash on Ebers Street.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the auto-pedestrian collision happened around 7:53 p.m. on the 1400 block of Ebers Street near the intersection with Point Loma Avenue.

Reports say that a southbound Land Rover LR3, driven by a 47-year-old man collided with the teen bicyclist at the intersection.

Officials say that both the driver and rider entered the intersection with Point Loma Avenue when the driver turned left onto eastbound Point Loma Avenue and the dirt biker continued straight on Ebers Street.

The collision left the bicyclist dragged several feet. Officials say that the teen suffered a fractured pelvis on both the left and right side. Medics rushed the injured boy to the hospital.

Meanwhile, police arrested the 47-year-old man on suspicion of felony DUI.

SDPD is investigating the collision.
