LAS VEGAS, NV (May 29, 2019) – A driver suffered serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Trade Drive, early Wednesday morning. Authorities did not disclose the identity of the victim.

According to North Las Vegas police, the incident happened near Cheyenne Avenue, at about 2:10 AM. Due to unknown circumstances, an eastbound semitrailer attempted to cross all lanes of traffic on Martin Luther King Boulevard. A short time later, it slammed into a Mercedes Benz on Trade Drive.

Emergency responders had to use the jaws of life to extricate the Mercedes driver from his vehicle. An ambulance transported the injured driver to University Medical Center, where he is expected to recover. Meanwhile, the truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Investigators ruled out impairment as a contributing factor, but the semitrailer driver was considered at fault for the crash. Additional information will be released following the conclusion of the investigation.
