Driver Injured in DUI Crash on Dillon Road and the 10 Freeway [Coachella, CA]

1 Injured in Semi-Truck DUI Accident at Dillon Road in Coachella

 
COACHELLA, CA (July 12, 2019) – An 18-year-old man sustained injuries following Wednesday’s DUI crash at Dillon Road near the 10 Freeway.
 
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the Coachella man struck the semi-truck around 1:30 a.m. He was reportedly heading east on Dillon Road at the time.
 
Paramedics eventually shuttled the male victim to a local hospital for further treatment of moderate injuries. However, there has been no update on his current condition.
 
Per the police department, deputies believe impairment played an integral role in the accident. However, it’s still unclear whether the truck driver suffered an injury at this time.
 
The surrounding area was closed off for a brief time while crews worked to clear the wreckage. However, the roadway has since reopened.
