SAN DIEGO, CA (January 27, 2020) — A driver suffered minor injuries Wednesday afternoon after a collision with a semi-truck sent the vehicle plowing into a Starbucks at Tenth Avenue and Market Street.

According to San Diego police Sgt. Michael Tansey, the BMW X5 SUV and the semi-truck collided around 3:50 p.m. Due to the force, the BMW careered into a Starbucks coffee shop at the corner of the intersection.

The driver of the BMW suffered only minor injuries in the incident while the BMW sustained passenger side impact. Only the front door and windows of the Starbucks appeared to have suffered any damage.

Reports did not immediately indicate what drove the crash in the first place, but authorities plan to dive deeper into the preceding events that unfolded.
