SIMI VALLEY, CA (February 2, 2023) – Tuesday morning, a driver sustained injuries in a big rig crash near Madera Road and Viewline Drive.
 
The incident which happened after 9:10 a.m. near Madera Road and Viewline Drive involved a big rig that crashed with a pickup truck. Also, the incident caused the hospitalization of the driver of the smaller vehicle for evaluation of pain.
 
According to the CHP, the big rig struck the curb and lost control as it attempted to turn right onto Madera Road.
 
Moreover, officers confirmed that the driver had no visible injuries. However, responders took the patient via ambulance to a local hospital for evaluation, CHP Officer Ryan Ayers said.
 
Due to the crash, the Simi Valley Police Department officials shut down the intersection for hours as crews cleaned up the debris.
 
Meanwhile, they also shut down the exit leading north onto Madera Road and reopened shortly after 1:30 p.m.
 
At this time, the circumstances that led to the crash remained unclear. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
