28-Year-Old Man Injured in DUI Crash near Pecos Road in Las Vegas
Las Vegas, NV (April 14, 2020) – Early Monday morning, a 28-year old driver was hospitalized after a two-car collision on Russell Road.
Las Vegas police first responded around 4:52 a.m. The two vehicles involved were later described as a 1999 Ford Taurus and a Jeep.
A 28-year old man was reportedly seen driving his Ford in the westbound lanes of Pecos Road.
There, the Ford veered into the northbound lane where it eventually struck the Jeep.
Due to the impact, the Ford driver was sent to Sunrise Hospital for further treatment of critical injuries. Meanwhile, a passenger inside the Ford was also transported for further treatment of moderate injuries.
Furthermore, the driver of the Jeep stayed on scene and cooperated with officials. Medics also say he remained uninjured.
Las Vegas Police later discovered that the Ford driver was under the influence. As a result, he was later charged with DUI.
In addition, the surrounding area on Russell Road was closed off during cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the roadway has since reopened.
At this time, an investigation to determine further information remains ongoing.
