Two People Hurt in DUI Crash on North Channing Avenue

Fresno, CA (October 22, 2020) – On Wednesday, two people were injured in a DUI crash on North Channing Avenue.

The incident happened at around 8:30 p.m. in central Fresno.

Further, Fresno Police said the truck driver was driving north on North Channing Avenue when it crashed with a Tesla heading west on McKinley Avenue.

As a result, the impact sent the Tesla into a yard and the truck through a house with someone inside.

Moreover, the homeowner said he was sitting on a couch and narrowly escaped major injury.

“My house is on a sub-floor, which is raised up, so I think that’s what slowed the vehicle from going all the way through the house, but it could’ve been more serious. I mean, just getting pushed off the couch to the middle of the living room,” he said.

The homeowner sustained minor injuries but is expected to be fine.

Meanwhile, police said the truck driver failed a sobriety test and will face DUI charges.

The Tesla driver is in the hospital with injuries and is expected to be OK.

Aim high in steering. Don’t make your steering adjustments based on what is directly in front of you. Rather, what is down the road. If the road is winding to the right, for example, look as far into the turn as possible. This will improve your safety and make your turns smoother.

Protecting Yourself Against Crash Injuries

Each year, approximately 20-50 million people suffer injuries or disabilities due to a vehicle crash.

Unfortunately, not everyone has proper information about the things you should do next after an injury crash.

Thus, the most valuable step you can take in response to a vehicle crash is hiring a personal injury attorney. Moreover, personal injury attorneys prioritize your recovery while securing your future from further losses a severe accident can bring.

“A common misconception is that personal injury lawyers don’t care. That is simply not true. Injury lawyers care about and want justice for their clients. We are driven by the desire to make our clients whole again,” says Steve Baric of Sweet Lawyers, an attorney practicing for over 40 years.
