Hydesville Hit-and-Run Accident on Highway 36

HYDESVILLE, CA (August 12, 2020) – Late Monday night, a driver fled on foot after a multi-vehicle crash on Highway 36.

The incident occurred at around 10:16 p.m. on Highway 36. According to reports, a pickup crashed into at least two parked vehicles. Then, he crashed through a metal fence.

Meanwhile, Hydesville resident Ashley Shute revealed that the incident happened just after she put her children to bed. “Then I heard a huge crash,” she said. “There was a beeping car alarm. I heard a female saying, ‘Call 911.’”

Shute added that she saw a blue Chevy still running in the neighbor’s yard. “The passenger-side window was impaled with the fence pole,” she revealed. “I tried to get into the truck…There was nobody in the vehicle Whoever was driving had fled the scene…We checked the cow fields [nearby] but didn’t find anyone. He must have run fast.”

May this be a reminder to all drivers that operating a vehicle is a responsibility that should not be taken lightly. Moreover, put all distractions away and be careful around other travelers. Always keep a safe distance from other vehicles around you. By being a defensive driver, you can minimize the risks of car accidents.

California Auto Accidents

As common of an occurrence as they are, many people do not suspect what follows in the event of a multi-vehicle crash.

When driving, scan the road 1/2 mile to a full mile ahead to check whether there’s a possible hazard. Our bodies weren’t designed to travel at 50mph. Also, we were designed for speeds of less than 10mph. Thus, you need to learn to consciously break that instinct and focus farther ahead
