Single-Car Accident in Vallejo Claims Driver’s Life
VALLEJO, CA (February 14, 2020)—A driver died in a high-speed single-vehicle accident on the 780 Freeway near Glen Cove Parkway Wednesday afternoon.
Authorities are still confirming witness accounts, indicating that a high-speed pursuit unfolded before the accident.
The vehicle, described as a silver Honda Civic, purportedly launched off the freeway near the Glen Cove Parkway exit before striking a tree and killing the driver instantaneously.
Authorities found a vehicle down an embankment next to a small business.
According to a California Highway Patrol officer, police tried taking the driver of the car into custody at the time, who’d been a suspect in a crime spree that occurred earlier in Vallejo; however, the fact that Vallejo units had still been pursuing the suspect when the crash happened demands further investigation.
Anyone with insight into this accident on the 780 Freeway should contact officers.
