Driver Dies, Another Injured in Vehicle Crash on Lincoln Boulevard [Oroville, CA]

Driver Hospitalized in Fatal Two-Car Crash on Lincoln Boulevard

 
Oroville, CA (December 18, 2020) – On Thursday, a driver died while another one was injured in a two-vehicle crash on Lincoln Boulevard.
 
The fatal accident took place at about 8:10 a.m. north of Monte Vista Avenue.
 
Apparently, the driver of a teal-colored sedan was heading north on Lincoln Boulevard. Just then, the truck lost control at a curve and drifted into oncoming traffic.
 
As a result, the truck struck a Toyota traveling in the opposite direction.
 
The authorities pronounced the Toyota driver dead on the scene.
 
On the other hand, the rescuers rushed the Sedan driver to the Enloe Medical Center with major injuries. The driver’s condition is unknown as of Thursday afternoon.
 
Oroville CHP said that the combination of slick roads and fast driving are the biggest factors leading to the crash.
 
“When you add a wet roadway with speed and then just the slightest amount of inattention or any other variable, there’s going to be the possibility for a crash,” says CHP Officer Benjamin Draper. “When there’s a crash, there’s always a possibility that it will be horrible” he added.
 
Moreover, CHP hopes this unfortunate event is not a foresight into what’s to come. Considering more wet weather was predicted throughout the coming weeks.
 
Similarly, officer Draper told drivers to remain abundantly cautious in the rain by keeping headlights on. Also, to keep windshield wipers active and speed on the road low.
 
Multiple agencies responded to the scene. The CHP, Cal Fire, Oroville Fire, as well as the Butte County Sheriff’s Office were there.
 
Meanwhile, it is unclear if alcohol or drug impairment were factors in the crash.
