YREKA, CA (November 3, 2022) – Sunday night, a driver died in a wrong-way crash on Interstate 5 near Grenada Irrigation District
 
The incident happened at around 9:18 p.m. on southbound Interstate 5, north of the Grenada Irrigation District overcrossing.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, a northbound gray 2017 Honda CR-V traveled in the southbound lanes. Then, it collided head-on with a 2023 Ford E-450 U-Haul van.
 
Moreover, responders pronounced the 37-year-old male driver of the wrong-way vehicle, dead at the scene. Then, paramedics transported two occupants of the U-Haul to Fairchild Medical Center with moderate injuries.
