Passenger Dies in Tulare County Fatal Crash
Tulare County, CA (October 29, 2024) – The authorities have arrested Abel Diaz, 51, following a deadly crash on Road 132 Monday night.
It was about 10:38 p.m. when the fatal collision happened north of Avenue 368.
Troopers said Diaz was driving a southbound red Dodge Avenger with a female passenger in the right front passenger seat.
CHP officers said he made an unsafe turn to the right and the vehicle left the paved portion of the roadway. Afterward, the vehicle drove onto the first shoulder and its front crashed into a dirt ravine west of Road 132.
The Dodge then overturned multiple times.
Investigators said neither Diaz her passenger were wearing seatbelts.
Sadly, the female passenger was killed at the crash scene.
Diaz fled the scene on foot but was later arrested. Troopers suspect alcohol and/or drugs played a role in the deadly crash.
