Female Pedestrian Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on 105 Freeway in Downey
DOWNEY, CA (February 16, 2019) – A woman was injured following a pedestrian hit-and-run crash just before noon in Downey.
The crash happened around 11:55 a.m. on westbound 105 Freeway at Bellflower Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a white sedan hit a female pedestrian, sending the victim down on the first lane of the freeway.
Los Angeles County Fire Department and Downey fire officials responded to the scene to handle the rescue operation. Paramedics also arrived and took the woman to a hospital for proper treatment.
The extent of injuries sustained and the condition of the patient were not immediately known .
The driver of the car reportedly took off after the crash without rendering aid.
At this time, California Highway Patrol officials are in the process of investigating the incident and on the lookout for the suspect.
