Douglas Binninger Killed in Head-On Crash on Mountain View Road in Desert Hot Springs

Head-On Collision in Desert Hot Springs Kills 1 and Injures 3 Others

 
DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA (April 16, 2019) – A man was killed and three others were injured following a head-on collision Tuesday afternoon in Desert Hot Springs.
 
The collision happened around 2:15 p.m. at Mountain View Road and 20th Avenue.
 
Fire crews along with paramedics responded to the crash site and pronounced one occupant dead at the scene. The deceased has been identified by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office as Douglas Binninger, 64, of Desert Hot Springs.
 
Three other people were hurt, one of them was badly injured while the other two sustained minor wounds. All three patients were taken to an area hospital for proper treatment.
 
Mountain View Road from Dillon Road to Clubhouse Drive was shut down while evidence from the scene was collected and photographed.
 
Details surrounding the collision were not made clear in the reports and media releases. The incident remains under investigation.
