Dontae Wilburn Arrested in Hit-And-Run in Stockton

 
Stockton, CA (May 3, 2020)– Saturday afternoon, a 34-year-old Dontae Wilburn was arrested after a hit-and-run accident that killed a man and injured a woman on West Hammer Lane.
 
Authorities responded upon receiving crash reports at around 3:30 p.m. on May 2. Dispatched officers arrived in a parking lot in the 2300 block of West Hammer Lane and found the two unidentified victims.
 
Reportedly, Wilburn immediately fled the scene after hitting the two individuals in a parking lot. However, the manner in which the accident happened remains unspecified.
 
Due to the extent of their injuries, they were transported to a hospital but the man later died while undergoing treatment while the woman is expected to survive.
 
Moreover, the authorities have yet to disclose the victims’ identity.
 
Furthermore, officers continue the investigation and asking anyone with information about the deadly crash to call Stockton police at 209-937-8377.

Following the Suspect’s Story

At this time, Wilburn is booked into San Joaquin County Jail, facing charges on homicide.
 
He was also arrested in late-March in connection with an assault, hitting a man with an unknown object. The assault happened in the 9500 blocks of Kelley Drive. Additionally, the victim sustained non-threatening injuries.
